WRITING
Emma Davidov is a screen-, poetry-, literary fiction-, play-, song-writer (or format agnostic if that suits your fancy).
Current Projects:
Canticle: a scripted academic thriller exploring themes of AI ethics and the care of our young. Canticle is a human drama about how small acts of negligence can create large acts of harm. Set to film in 2026.
Megara: a whimsical play in two acts with strong ballet elements, follows a twenty-something photographer who will be forced to confront a storied past in the wake of a fresh romance. An intimate and cheeky look at 2025 young-Manhattanite culture, with an operatic conclusion.
In Development:
The House of Mirth: A scripted feature adaptation of Edith Wharton's seminal novel, a tale of the complete social desiccation of the alluring and tragic Lily Bart. This iteration of the iconic story will bring voyeuristic intimacy to the gilded age of New York.
Something Grotesque: Davidov's sophomore collection of poems, visceral and grounded in the body of the author, are examinations of decay, delight, and total human repugnancy married into an excess (if there is such a thing) of human love.
THE ROMANTIC: A BOOK OF POEMS
The Romantic is Emma Davidov’s inaugural collection of poetry. Written over 7 years, it is composed of love letters, prayers, vindications, and favorite musings. Each of these are strung together by the strong theme of romanticization of one’s life, a phenomena from which no one is safe. It is a book about the little moments, the big feelings, the intrusive thoughts, and sweet sweet heartbreak. Handle with care… words are sharp and we are so soft.
The Romantic is an Aurelians Collective Publication
