ARTIST STATEMENT
I am nothing in my soul if not beholden to beauty, like the lover you just can't say no to. My eye is perennially strained to capture the essence of a moment. I am a Platonist at heart and believe that at the center of every image, is the ideal to which it speaks. In a world of such dark and beautiful aspects, there is plenty into which I can sink my teeth. As a lifelong design nerd, the material for my medium is plentiful-- I live and breathe archival. My practice as a creative director, filmmaker, interior designer, writer, and performer allows me to compose work which collates elements and ephemera of my experience-- that of girlhood, that of New York, that of the steely-eyed seeker. I love black eyelashes, too much lipgloss, lost innocence, brazen nostalgia, and an air of quiet mystery.
On an Earth so ripe in loveliness, I have affixed myself to some number of ideas on which to meditate, which to build worlds around and to examine in their drabbest details under a magnifying glass, to find where they catch light. There is so much light to be caught.
My influences include (in no particular order, click influences to immerse)
